If your categories are not working in AMP then you need to make you have set up these two things
Reason One:
First, make sure to check the category option turned or not.
You will find this option in the WordPress Dashboard -> AMP -> Settings -> General -> Once you enable “Archives[Category & Tags]” option inside “Category” option will be display and then click on the “Save Changes” button.
Reason Two:
If you removed the category base in your non-AMP version (normal website) then you need to remove it in AMP as well by following these steps.
For example:
From – http://example.com/category/sport/
To – http://example.com/sport/
Here are the steps to remove the category base in AMP:
1. First Go to the WordPress admin area -> AMP option panel -> Settings -> Advance Settings.
2. Scroll down a little to see this option.
Category base removes in AMP: Once you enable this option it will remove the Category base in AMP also.
