AMPforWP allows you to easily configure SEO in AMP. It is also compatible with Yoast, Genesis, and others as well.
This option is for those who are not using Yoast.
Just enable the ‘Meta Description’ option from Settings -> SEO like the picture below and it will automatically take the meta tags in AMP
If you are using Yoast and don’t want to sacrifice SEO in AMP then this one is for you.
AMPforWP is fully compatible with Yoast SEO plugin.
To enable it in AMP, Go to Settings -> SEO in AMP options panel.
Enable the top 3 switches i.e., ‘Meta Description’, ‘Meta Tags from Yoast’, ‘Yoast Description in ld+json’ as shown in the below figure.
If you don’t want to include ld+json in AMP, then simply disable the last option i.e., ‘Yoast Description in ld+json’
You can even use advanced index/no-index options of Yoast in AMP. The below picture shows the switches which allow you to select index/no-index in AMP.
Note: You don’t need any extra plugin for Yoast Compatibility in AMP, AMPforWP is enough.
It is also compatible with Genesis SEO.
Just enable the ‘Meta Description’ from Settings->SEO and it will take all the meta tags of Genesis automatically.
If you are using other plugin or adding the meta tags by yourself and want to add those meta tags in AMP as well, then we got something for you as well.
Use the ‘Additional tags for Head section AMP page’ option. It is a textbox which will add the meta tags directly in the head section of AMP so you don’t even have to worry about the hooks.
That’s it for this tutorial!
