Hey Guys, It really makes me happy to announce that we have built a Mobile redirection feature within the AMP for WP plugin, which allows you to redirect all the mobile visitors directly to the AMP version.
But why…?
WHY!, you may ask? Because more than 50% of your traffic is from mobile and you aren’t doing anything to improve their user experience, which means you are falling behind on SEO and it can result in lower SERPS. Lightning fast mobile version means faster User experience means more engagement which directly results in the lower bounce rate.
Let’s see what’s new in this update
- AMP Mobile Redirection Feature added. It can be turned on from Dashboard > General and then Mobile Redirection. [New Feature] – This was the highlight this update.
- Archive title and description added [Improvement]
- Improved the Speed of the AMP version #321 [Improvement]
- Anchor link was not closing fixed #328 [Bug Fix]
- Typo in Trailingslashit function which resulted in some issues in the Homepage version [Bug Fix]
You keep reporting the bugs and we will keep fixing them
Home Page Mobile Redirection not working properly, showing 404 Error on mobile after update and enabling.
Hey Surbhit,
Yes, we just noticed that it is happening on the “Pages”. And we are working on the fix and will push the update in few hours.
Meanwhile, I suggest you turn off Mobile redirection till the next update.
Thank you very much for reporting the issue.

Hey Surbhit,
Also can you please tell me what is your permalink structure? Also if you could share the link to that page, on which you were getting 404 (even mobile redirection is turned off ).
Thanks
Hello,
Great update the “Mobile Redirection”.
I only want to exclude the homepage from this feature. When I disable pages or the homepage for AMP they still get redirect to AMP when I enable “Mobile Redirection”. What can I do?
Hey Ronald,
Yes, this thing can be improved, I will create a new ticket in the github and will make sure it is added in future updates.
Thank you for your feedback,
Mohammed Kaludi
I have created a ticket for this issue https://github.com/ahmedkaludi/accelerated-mobile-pages/issues/345
Please be assured it will be fixed in future updates.

I recently installed the AMP plugin and your premium Advanced Amp Ads. Everything renders fine on desktop browsers. However, when trying to access the site in iOS from an iPhone or iPad, I get an error that says “Safari cannot open the page because too many redirects occurred.” I have scoured the internet and can’t find a resolution. Have you heard of this before? Thanks 😉
I am having the same issue, and had to disable AMP for WP. What is the target resolution time or fix?
I am doing redirection from http to https within my .htaccess file.
Hi, I have tried the mobile redirection feature but had to revert back due to various issues:
– home-page not correctly displayed (built with visual composer)
– err: too_many_redirects (on mobile only)
– some 404 (difficult to reproduce now..)
Hope it helps
Best,
