Sudden increase in Mobile Usability issues in October 2021

So many users are reporting that there are getting messages from the Google Search Console team from Oct 2021 saying there are Mobile Usability issues detected on their website and the errors which there have received are:

Text too small to read
Content wider than screen
Clickable elements too close together

We have debugged it a lot and found that this is not a bug of our AMP plugin because we have seen the people who are using other AMP plugins also experiencing the same issues and moreover we have also found some websites which are not built on WordPress platform also facing the same. So finally came to the conclusion that it was a Google Bug and we hope Google will sort it out soon

Here are the main reasons why we think so

1 – No errors when testing live URL – When we test the same URL on the live testing then it is showing as valid without any errors as you can see in the below video

2 – No errors on mobile usability testing tool – When we test the URLs in the mobile-friendly test then also it is showing as valid

3 – No errors on Lighthouse – When we check the URLs on the lighthouse then also we have not encountered any errors and everything is fine

4 – Incorrect detected date – The First detected date is showing incorrectly as 3-12-2019 for some users and we also notice the wrong dates of 2018 as first detected for few users

Due to all these reasons, we finally came to the conclusion that it is a Google Bug and yes, even Google has bugs sometimes as everything is definitely okay on users websites and also hear are some more discussions happening on the internet
