AMPforWP is now GDPR Compliant – A Step Forward Towards Privacy!

We take the feedback very seriously and one of the most requested features that people have been asking us for is the GDPR compliancy, so we acted very quickly to implement GDPR compliancy into AMPforWP plugin.

What is GDPR?

General Data Protection Regulation or GDPR is a privacy and data protection law implemented by the European Union.

The EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) was designed to harmonize data privacy laws across Europe, to protect and empower all EU citizens data privacy and to reshape the way organizations across the region approach data privacy.

Who’s Affected?

If you are a business or resident in Europe or does business with them, then you are under this law. The fines of these laws are really heavy so it’s better to comply as soon as possible to be on a safe side.

What is AMPforWP doing about the GDPR?

We have immediately audited all of our options, settings, and everything to make sure that we and our users are aligned with GDPR properly.

We also included a new GDPR Consent (popup) which automatically asks your users for the permission and they choose to decide if they want to do that or not. We even made sure that the user selection in the GDPR consent properly reflects to the functionality which may track the personal data.

The GDPR options are available in Dashboard > AMP > Settings > Notice bar

The output of this will be a consent popup which will ask users if they allow you to show the elements that may collect their personal data such as ads, analytics, iframes, etc. They can accept or reject, If rejected, they can go to the footer and change the Privacy settings to allow them again.

How can I get GDPR options for AMP?

We introduced this feature in 0.9.86 version of the plugin. If you are on that version, then you already have it in the Notify section.

Thank you! for using our product!

As always, you keep sending feedback and we will keep on implementing them!
