You don’t need rocket science to understand what Structured Data is if you can just dissect the meaning of the words involved. In a simple language, Structured Data means an organized form of data sets. Sounds simple?
In fact, the structured data is organized data into a prescribed format and stored in a typical digital storage device. Structured data is something that can easily be accessed for processing and analyzing.
Usually, structured data means data stored in distinct fields, which can be extracted either in combination with other data or separately. Database – as the combination of data is called – makes the data more readable, comprehensible, and available to the users. You need a good vocabulary to make it work and the one used by the big search engines is called Schema.org. The interaction with these structured data has been made very easy using the SQL – Standard Query Language.
The search engines, Google, Bing, Yandex introduced the shared vocabulary called Schema.org. Schema.org is the data format like Microdata or RFDa. But, JSON-LD is what everyone working on. The JSON-LD is easy to write and read for both humans and machines. JSON-LD is one of the recommended methods of adding Schema.org to your site.
Everyone wishes their webpage to be on the top of the Google search list for more than one keyword, but reaching there is a daunting task, even if your content is 100% genuine, totally, unique, and well-written.
Wonder why getting the top spot and sustaining the position is difficult? It is because the data in your content is not organized as per the content guideline provided by the search engine.
It is very important to structure the data in such a way that the data automatically becomes an actionable data on which Google can process inadvertently, rank it higher, and make available in Google’s Rich Snippets or Rich Cards, Google Assistant.
There are different ways to structure your data in your blog and articles to yield the maximum positioning.
AMP with Structured Data
AMP pages with structured data will appear in carousel stories in mobile search results. Without proper structured data implementation, the AMP pages appear as standard blue links on Google mobile search results.
Non-AMP Page with Structured Data
Carousel of stories in search results is also possible with Non-AMP pages. You may have Non-AMP web pages, which may not offer a readymade structure, but to achieve rich text results, structured data should be included on the page.

Once you installed the plugin you’ll see a “Structured Data” section where all the settings are.
In Structure data, there are two menus “Schema Types” and “Settings”
Go to WordPress Dashboard -> Structured Data -> Schema Types -> Add Schema Type.

You will find this option in the WordPress Dashboard -> Structure Data -> Settings -> Global -> General Settings-> Select “About” and “Contact” pages and click on the “Save settings” button.
